Description: English Story Telling Competition Theme: Let’s set sail to tell a tale. Stories are a reflection of life. They are a creative conversion of life into a powerful, clearer and more meaningful experience. An Inter Branch English Story Telling Competition was held on 21st July, 2017 in our School. The aim of the Competition was to enhance the imagination and speaking skills of our young and budding story tellers and to develop appreciation for the beauty of language. The Chief Guest for the competition was Ms. Sharon Ganeshram, a member of the St. Karen’s family. Ms. Bhagwati Gupta and Ms. Anjana Mishra were the dignified Judges. The programme started with a Welcome dance by the Students of Std-I on the song “We Welcome you today” sung by the school’s choir. In order to encourage and give children ample opportunity to explore the Magical World of stories, diverse topics were given to each of the classes from STD- I to V. Std-I presented Animal Stories. The Elephant in Saumya Sharan’s Story not only found a friend but also helped Saumya from St Karen's Primary School to bag the Prize in the category. In the second group,Neelam of St. Karen’s Primary School won the prize for her story 'The Wooden bowl ' on the theme of 'Family'. A thrilling short skit “A Face in the Dark” based on the story of the renowed author Ruskin Bond was performed by the students of Std-IV. The students of Std-III enthralled the audience with stories on “Friendship” and Jahanvi of Std-III A made St Karen's Montessori School proud by winning the Prize in this category. Abhilasha Mondal’s Story “Akbar’s Child” portrayed the wit of Birbal and helped her in winning the Prize for Std-IV (St. Karen’s Primary School) on the theme “Akbar Birbal’s Stories”. Students of Std-V presented the stories on Indian legends and the inspiring story of Mahatma Gandhi by Shubham Kumar of St. Karen’s Primary School, won the Prize. The programme ended with an action song “I'm a Gummy Bear” by the Students of Std-II. The immaculate and eloquent anchoring by Alveera Intekhab(4H) and Shubh(4D) won appreciation from everyone.
